Pinball Ads/Images For Sale

Do you own a 1930s or 1940s pinball? Yes? Then you've come to the right place. Listed here are hundreds of ads and images of these rare beasts. Most images have been digitally scanned and painstakingly edited on computer to make them look as good as possible.

Currently 950 ads from 1931-43 are listed. Over time many more from 1944-50 will be added once they are indexed. Ads for 1943 have recently been added. Also note that the full manufacturers names are now listed, to make searching easier.

About the Ads

Lamination

I can now offer lamination for any ad for $1.50 per page. If you are not going to file the ad in a binder in a sheet protector, then this is the way to go. Makes the ad look very attractive, while making it much more robust to handle. Note that all non-laminated ads are shipped in sheet protectors at no extra charge.

Edited vs Unedited Ads

Most of the 1931-33 ads appear in Pinball Ad Catalog Volume 1, 1931-33, which is currently in stock. Most of the 1934-35 ads are included in Pinball Ad Catalog Volume 2, 1934-35 which is also available.

Ads for many games after 1936 are currently not scanned or edited. They may be over time as future ad catalogs are generated. If you order these ads it may take me a day or two to complete the work on them. Please be patient, as you are buying my time for about $2 an hour to make these ads look nice! Note: I do not sell or provide raw photocopies or scans of ads.

Please support me in my endeavour to scan and edit ads from all games of the 1930s and 1940s. If you don't buy these ads then I can't guarantee that I will continue this service in the future.

Ad Sizes

The original ads came in all shapes and sizes. Many were taken from oversized magazines and were full page, half page or quarter page and after scanning and editing fill up most of an 8.5 by 11 page. Other ads were smaller than that and did not contain game pictures or sketches. These are priced accordingly less. Ask if you have any questions!

Other images come directly from manfacturers brochures and are generally full page sized. Some are full color, while others contain one spot color such as red.

Ordering the Ads - It's Cheap and Easy!

You can order these ads through the mail with payment via cheque or money order, or save time and effort and order online directly and securely with your credit card (via CCNow).

I also accept PayPal, although I don't as of yet have a shopping cart set up with them. If you wish to use PayPal to pay, please email me with the ad numbers or just PayPal me and note the ad numbers. My PayPal email address is my regular email address, which is located on the Contact page of this web site.

You can use the shopping cart links to add images as you go. When you want to checkout, you will be asked to provide your credit card number securely. Shipping is at a flat rate (currently just over $3, but see the shopping cart for actual price) for one or more ads (USA and Canada - other destinations will be more). If you are ordering oversized ads that need to be rolled and shipped in a tube, the cost could be a couple of dollars higher. I don't profit on shipping and sometimes lose.

The Ad List

Legend

  • Product Id - the product number for reference
  • Name - the name of the game
  • Mfr - the game manufacturer
  • Year - the year the game was produced (or the year the ad was published)
  • Color - B (black and white), C (one spot color), F (full color)
  • Price - the price of the ad
  • Notes - additional comments. Comments such as "with Home Run" means the indicated ad also features the game Home Run. The Home Run entry would also indicate that it was with the other game if the same image was referred to. The "no pic" remark means that no picture of the game appears in the ad - it may be text only or may include fancy graphics but without the game being shown. A dash in front of this means the game is pictured but very little of no detail can actually be seen.

Keep in mind that one physical ad may show up under two separate entries if more than one game is featured. Please email me if you have questions about what any individual ad contains.
